Life cycle assessment of rammed earth
A full cradle to grave Life Cycle Assessment was performed on a ‘generic’ rammed earth wall and three projects which have been completed in the UK. The intention for the study was to obtain a BRE Green Guide rating for the ‘generic’ rammed earth wall. Comparisons were to be made between the various ways in which a ‘generic wall’ can be constructed. The study would also obtain a comparison between this and the way in which these projects have been achieved in the past.
