Dr Charles Augarde is Reader in Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences at Durham University. He is interested in how earthen construction materials and structures really “work” from the scientific point of view. Improving knowledge in this area can only help promote wider acceptance of these materials (he reckons).
Dr Louise Cooke. Louise is an archaeologist and heritage researcher. Her interest in earth building came from undertaking conservation work in Central Asia. She works freelance on projects in the UK and overseas, and is a part-time tutor for the Open University. Louise is currently Chair of EBUK.

Mr Amrit Row Amrit originally trained in Fine Art but has worked as a Landscape and Garden designer for the last 12 years. He has used Rammed earth in landscape projects and uses cob widely in wood-fired oven builds for private clients. He seeks to integrate buildings more sustainably within the wider landscape through ecosystem design.
Ms Linda Royles
Prof. Pete Walker is a chartered civil engineer, is Director of the BRE Centre for Innovative Construction Materials at the University of Bath. As well as earth building his research interests includes novel renewable materials and lime based materials. He has authored two books on earth construction.
